This book makes me wonder about people. How well do you really know anybody? How well do you really know yourself?

Irini Harringford keeps her distance from everyone. It's no wonder she has trust issues as her parents sent her to live with an aunt when she was three years old and kept her older sister to be raised at home. Now an adult, Irini's sister, Elle, calls to let her know that their mother has died. Irini travels back to her parents' estate to attend her mother's funeral and to finally find out the truth about why she was given away and Elle was allowed to stay. Through many twists and turns and people not turning out to be who you thought they were, Irini finally gets an answer. The whole time I was listening to this book I thought I knew why Irini had been sent away...only to find out I wasn't even close.

This is definitely a psychological thriller and I highly recommend for fans of that genre.

Engaging read. But Why all the rape? Super triggering. I won't be passing it along to anyone for that reason alone.

Characters didn’t seem believable and realistic. I felt that the use of mental illness in this book was not explained correctly. Kind of bothered me. Didn’t become really exciting till the end of the book.

Note to authors...the weirdo sister trope needs to be shelved for a while.
