I honestly believed that 'Smoke & Mirrors' was going to be the final book in the THIRDS series. I was mostly okay with that since a lot of answers were revealed and I felt fairly confident about where I believed the author was going to go in a spin-off. I am happy to see 'Thick & Thin' as it will enable Dex and Sloane to get some closure with Destructive Delta who are more family than coworkers.

How exactly is Dex going to tell his family everything that's happened to him in just a handful of days? Dex, of course, handles it perfectly… tells it as it is in Tony's hospital room while his dad is recovering from a bullet wound and Cael has had quite a week, and finding out his brother died isn't making it any better. *grins* Tony is not happy, in the least, when he finds out that Dex and Sloane are going to be TIN operatives.

Being a fan is hard. I keep wanting to leave, thinking I've had enough of the story, but Dex and Sloane and the rest of the group keep making me want to stay. I'm torn!

This was a short bridge between the events of book 7 and what is to come in the future. The changing dynamic of Dex and Sloane, the upcoming work dynamic, the jokes (gots to have my 'Dex vs. Ash ' scene made this a nice little holdover read.

Since this was short, can we go ahead and get Seb/Hudson?? Please!!!

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Change is in the air

I'm with Dex on lots of things but especially in the realm of when are these guys going to get a break? There are so many changes occurring in this world it makes my head spin. One thing that remains the same is this crazy, wonderful family and how much I love them. Tony is flat out amazing and I want to be adopted by him. I am love with Ash in love. The softer sides to him but still the same grumpy Ash; I can't express how happy I am for him.

“Even good men have darkness in them.” I'd keep one eye on Dex at all times. He is going to surpass lethal. Also, I didn't think it was possible but somehow Dex and Sloane are even hotter and sexier in this book. Emotions run high in this book and it made my heart hurt at times but no matter what I always felt the love. On a funnier note, we finally find out Dimples name and it's epic! Now if we can only learn more about Rosa's girlfriend. Another fantastic addition to this phenomenal series.

Change is in the wind for Destructive Delta. So many reveals.

I'm not a huge fan of novellas but I understand why this was needed in order to make the changes with the team.

4.5 star read for me. This novella covered the first few days after the end of Smoke & Mirrors and sets up book 9 that should be releasing 4/2017. I can't wait for more books in this series.

Good but, I mean this could have been condensed and just added to book 7?

Audiobook version.

This isn't a full length novel but about a third of one. It's about Dex and Sloane explaining to all their family all the changes that happened in 2 days.
It was a good slice of their life, focused on their relationships with everyone around them.

I'm not even going to bother with reviews anymore, I hate this series but my brain won't let me give up before I finished all the books. Another review explained everything that didn't work in the lore and character development, and it really tries to be comedic and sitcom-like but it just doesn't translate well and it becomes so annoying and it's just getting worse I hate it here.

4.75* of enjoyable re-reading.

This is a re-read for me that for some reason I have not reviewed before, so was the books being re-released and with new covers I thought I would read it again and review. This is the perfect connecting back as we wait (impatiently) for the re-release of Seb and Hudson’s book.

I was struck again with the same anticipation, sense of urgency, along with a whole host of other feelings that I felt the first time I read this book. The chemistry and friendships of the team are evolving and growing tighter especially the one between Dex and Hobbs, as the rest of their lives are changing too. Sloan and Dex still have their great chemistry, as they find their way, with the new responsibilities after the revelations of Smoke and Mirrors, I can’t wait for the spin-off to start.
