This one is definitely one of my favorites in the Bodyguards Inc. series. I loved the descriptive writing in the setting, the characters, and the romance. Very sensual and sexy but not sexed up, if that makes sense.
And mmmm kissing. Kissing is always good, and when you can write that so steamy hot? Perfection!
But really, I loved Alex and Lewis, how they came to care for each other so quickly and naturally. And I loved the people on Lewis' island, his sister especially.
I'm really looking forward to the next one with Roman!

I've been looking forward to reading this book ever since I finished the first five books in the series. Yes, it's another bodyguard and celebrity pairing--well, hello, countless celebrities actually do need bodyguards so using this combination more than once is more than understandable and quite expected--but there is a difference to this one compared to the others. Here, we have a bit more in-depth look at the life of the bodyguard away from the job. Okay, Lewis does take his job (aka Alex) with him to Stoirmeil, but we see Lewis as more than a bodyguard. He's a loving brother to his younger siblings--sister Sorcha and brother Davey--and is a responsible laird to the people of his isle. Physically, he's your typical bodyguard, but he's this brainiac who moves gracefully and just happens to be, to Alex's joy, very bisexual.
As I've come to expect in these books, there isn't a great deal of action involved but the danger is real enough that there's a sense of excitement. But the real anticipation comes from whether or not the bodyguard and his client are going to not just hook up but end up happily ever after. Of course, these are romance novels with an almost always guaranteed HEA, but you still look forward to reading how they get that much awaited point. Alex also happens to be pop star stuck in neutral in terms of his career, so that was one aspect of the story that I also had my focus on . Lewis siblings added that extra punch to the story, and the appearance of Roman Azarov was something I looked forward to because, as I hoped, it opened the door to a seventh book in the series! Kissing Alex was a sweet, four-star addition to Bodyguards, Inc. ♥

Although it is supposed to be his vacation time, Lewis ends up bringing pop star Alex with him to his Scottish island in order to keep him safe and away from the public eye - the same public who has put a bullseye on his back. But the time away spent with Lewis's family brings out the person Alex forgot was inside him and he realizes that his celebrity status is not something he wants anymore. Can Lewis keep him alive long enough to start a new future - one in Lewis' arms? With edge of your seat drama and a heartwarming storyline this was a great read.

There was lots to like in this story. The unique characters weren't what I expected from the hero bodyguard and his celebrity client. Alex definitely didn't fit the stereotype (celebrity singer) and neither did Lewis (the bodyguard).
I loved the isolated setting on the island and the imagery in the book gave a real sense of the location. I could almost visualise Lewis walking around his island, the place where he gave so much of himself to the community. His siblings were also excellent characters.
Toss in the mystery, action, and heroics, and it was a great love story.

I've enjoyed every one of the books in this series but this one is really special as it has two loves running through it, not just Alex and Lewis' but also the love of heritage and the land under your feet.
Lewis' island home is as much a character as his brother and sister, as the rest of the people who live on the tiny Inner Hebrides island.
I'm also a sucker for Scots Gaelic, I learned to speak it when I spent hundreds of hours in some of the very locations this book is set in and I know the people who work the tiny CalMac ferry they catch out to Lewis' island.
This part of Scotland's West Highlands is one of the most awe inspiring landscapes I've ever seen and Alex falling for that as much as he did Lewis was so believable to me.
The bad guy plot also worked well and leads into the next book in the series which will see Roman fight against his crime family with the help of another of Kyle's BI guys.
I can't wait :)
