Not one of his best books, but still an interesting look at a period in Egyptian history that not everyone is familiar with.

I used to like Jacq's books very much but this one was a bit disappointing.

Set in Ancient Egypt, it tells the story of the Black Pharaoh, but from a very unrealistic point of view and telling us about the 'magic' in the pharaoh's life: the connection he had with nature, with animals, and with the land of Egypt.

It is nice because of the historical period it is set in but it is more a fantasy novel than historical novel.
