Meg is balancing a career with being a wife , mother and friend. This balance is weighted with guilt which is amplified when a young boy is hit by a car. Although Meg was not driving the car she feels responsible. Meg’s life is changed forever.

Karma Brown has a way of taking a deep heartfelt subject such as guilt and the ramifications it has on someone and turns it into an entertaining, gripping story.

I’ve been wanting to read a Karma Brown book for what seems like forever! Come Away With Me has been sitting on my TBR pile for so long & I’ve heard such wonderful things about her writing style, so when I had the opportunity to snag a copy of In This Moment, I couldn’t resist.

Let me just say my Saturday afternoon came to a dead halt once I started reading, In This Moment; it hooked me right away. I do love a good thriller, but this book is so much more. Karma touches on the overwhelm so many of us feel & that nagging feeling of things being just enough out of our control that it affects every aspect of our life. The readers see this in Meg as her past catches up with her present & she deals with the aftermath of her actions. This book is heartbreaking, tense, fast paced, emotional with a satisfying ending.

I was sweating reading this book. The suspense builds & I felt my chest tighten as Meg just had the world stacking against her. I’m seriously calling into work next time I feel sick, just like Meg wished she had done. Can I just say that all the interaction with Andrew made me so incredibly uncomfortable? Even from the start I just didn’t trust him. I wasn’t totally in love with her spouse, Ryan, but some of Meg’s decisions made me cringe. W all do crazy things when we’re under overwhelming stress, so I can’t really blame her.

I loved reading about Karma’s inspiration for In This Moment in the Acknowledgments. An older aged woman was waiting to cross a busy street & the author was going to let her cross, but was concerned the other cars wouldn’t see her & BAM! that’s how she came up with the plot for In This Moment. I love it because it is so incredibly relatable. We’ve all been in situations where one tiny decision could (or does) have lifelong implications. I was Really Into my first Karma Brown book & I’m going to read the rest of her books ASAP. This is a wonderful summer read, a quick & enjoyable beach or airplane read & I bet you’ll be seeing & hearing more about it. In This Moment stays with you.

This was just kinda “meh”. The big thing that happens in the story, isn’t even really the focus, while all the other smaller things are.

I won an ARC of this book in a goodreads giveaway. I really enjoyed the story and totally got sucked into Meg's reality. I felt like I was right there with her as she let the guilt of one decision slowly let her world fall apart. I've never read anything by this author before and will look into other books by her.

I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways. Although I did enjoy this book and read it really quickly, it was pretty predictable and I loved her first two books much more. I definitely enjoy this author and look forward to more books from her!

More like 3.5 stars - I quite liked it but the ending was too rushed. Wanted more in the end.

I found this book quite depressing, and could not really relate to how Meg handled things and the choices she made. I was having a hard time with her feelings for Andrew. I was also not completely satisfied with the ending. However, I did like the author’s writing style, and there were times when I could really sympathize with the characters. I might check out some of Karma Brown’s other books one day.

The book was an easy read even though the story is quite complex. Meg Pepper has her busy life under control: her real estate job, her physician husband, her teenage daughter, her best friend all make her life happy and productive. While driving her daughter from school one day, Meg stops the car to wave a teenager named Jack across the street, not knowing that a car is oncoming in the next lane. A teacher is driving and texting and slams into the young man. The novel, from that moment, deals with the ripple effects of that split-second decision that will affect the lives of many people. Jack's and his family's lives will be forever changed as well as Meg's and her family's lives. There is plenty of food for thought here. It is a cautionary tale that stays with you long after you have finished reading.

By reading the book jacket you've basically read the whole story. That being said the book reads easily and I did enjoy it.
