I was going to rate this three stars but in the end I was more frustrated with this book than anything. But that was just how I felt about it.

HOLY WOW. I just read and read and read. I don’t even think I slept. This book is just gripping and the twists and turns. Esther is just trying to survive and Nik wants something better. Can either get what they want? Can anyone onboard? This book is outstanding and I can only hope that I can read the second book in this duology just as soon as humanly possible because I need answers and I just can’t stop thinking about what happened and what could happen next. I just want more please and thank you.

It was fine. One of the main characters was a massive dick, so that was distracting. Tbf, I'm probably not the target audience for this.

3.75 stars ⭐️! There is nothing I love more than a YA dystopian novel and I was so excited to pick this one up. Overall I did enjoy this book. The characters were likeable, I loved the multiple POV’s and the pacing kept me engaged the whole time. However the romance subplot was perhaps a little too lackluster and I didn’t feel any real connection with any of the characters, hence leaving me a little disappointed.
Also you shouldn’t be allowed to kill off my favourite character and 1/2 of my favourite couple in the first book….rude!

I don’t think I’ve ever been more angry about a betrayal in a book

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this free ARC.
The Stranded is an original take on post-apocalyptic dystopia. With intrigue, action and suspense, it's perfect for those of us that enjoy a grittier story.
I thoroughly enjoyed it!

It started out a little slow as the world’s reality was established, I prefer a faster start. I’m not sure what could have been done differently to speed it up. In the end, it was a foundation worth the time. You can build several books on what was built here.
The ending was fairly predictable, but then, I was wrong!
Do they win? … Do they lose? … Read it and you find your own answers. It’s worth your time and effort to arrive at your own conclusions.
