Bitty bitty Betty Blob is a celebration of difference and just being you ! Betty is an adorable blob monster and she isn’t really scary at all. She loves colors and cute things and has a very hard time acting like the other monsters, especially on picture day ! It is expected that monsters will be growling and terrifying in the picture, but despite all her efforts, Betty is just cute. Of course the little monster suffers from it, fearing to be mocked and rejected… until she meets new friends who help her to be truly herself.
This sweet picture book is truly a treasure. I am absolutely in love with the art and the color effects pink/gray. The story is simple, but beautifully emphasizes the power to truly stay ourselves.

My favorite picture book of the year. ❤️
And the illustrations and color schemes are incredible! A must for every parent of young ones. My toddler loved it.

A much repeated message in a beautiful package. Player’s illustrations shine, as always. I love how he contrasts the black-and-white monster world with pink Betty and her colorful friends. In the text, I especially love how Betty’s mother truly embraces the photo in which her daughter is most herself. Be sure to peak under the book’s jacket for a colorful surprise!

Adorable.
Betty Blob doesn’t quite feel like she fits in at Monster School. She tries and tries but it isn’t quite… Betty.
On Picture day, Betty blobs her way to school and finds friends that are more her speed. They help her out during picture day to feel totally her - totally Betty.
I love this illustration style, and I think this book is delightful.
