“He’s a storm, swirling all around me, threatening to destroy me from the inside out. And for once, I was to be obliterated.”

This romantic suspense was an entrawling adventure of heartbreak and intrigue that had me turning each page anticipating what was coming next.

Summary:
Cleo, a small town resident of the great Smoky Mountains suffered terrible heartbreak and tragedy on her wedding day as a young bride of eighteen. No stranger to heartbreak, Cleo had already already lost both parents and sister, orphaning her at a young age.

Fleeing and making a new life for herself in Arizona, years after the accident, Cleo receives devastating news that the woman who raised her has been hospitalized and it may not have been an accident. Returning home, Cleo learns of a shadow that has followed her every moment while also being forced to face old relationships and old secrets.

Review:
This story had me guessing, learning I was wrong and guessing again. At each page, I was gripped with the intense story and romance while enjoying the beautiful writing of this author.

As the plot unfolded, I was invested to learn the outcome and dive into the romance that frightens Cleo, but also I didn't want the story to end!

Absolutely recommend this book to everyone and definitely suggest you purchase a copy. I plan to enjoy this story again and again.

This was non-stop thrilling and I ate this up. Cleo just cannot catch a break!! The ending was the LAST thing I expected and I was trying to figure it out along the way. I absolutely loved this.

Check your triggers at the beginning of the book ❤️

This book sucked me in and I was so irritated every time I had to put it down. (Stupid adulting.) The mystery kept me guessing, the love story was tragically beautiful, and I was rooting for Cleo the whole time. Excellent debut! I’ll be following Cohen’s additional works.

Thank you so much for this ARC.
First off, it has been a long time since I read a book in one sitting. I started this book and COULD NOT put it down. I had my theories throughout the whole book, and one of them was correct! But oh my goodness! Cleo, the FMC, just goes through so much in her life that you just feel for her through the whole book. And just when you think it's over and see you still have an hour left in the book, you know something is about to go down! As a debut novel, I feel this well written, and I enjoyed it so much! The suspense was great, and the mystery was done so well. The author does a great job of keeping the readers on their toes and waiting for the plot twists. Once you think you know what's going on, just guess again!
