If I have to keep reading Luo Ji's bizarre and sexist opinions I am going to end it all.

"It's a wonder to be alive. If you don't understand that, how can you search for anything deeper?"
This has an extremely slow start. We don't get Luo Ji being announced as Wallfacer until around page 100, and even afterwards, it's quite slow. It does pick up quite a bit of speed in the third part. Ultimately, I think this would have been five stars had I understood more of the science happening. Way better than the first book.

The book has quite a slow start but the end is so catching I could not stop reading. The author's writing style to me is very interesting - a little lifeless and kinda technical.
But I have a real problem with the main character's view of women! This is just creepy and so off in my oppinion! Also there are no good/important female characters.

There were many parts that felt so redundant to the story… I wish it was a bit shorter as I really struggled to get through it closer to the end.
But I’ll defo pick up the third book (but later)

okay. so. the second half of this? perfectly good scifi! the first half of this? i guess the author forgot women are people in between books or something, because the way they're described and treated in this book - especially everything about the garbage fire that is the imaginary girlfriend (turned fridged wife) subplot - makes it near unreadable.

Almost no female characters, wooden dialogue, the main character’s obsession and interaction with his ‘dream girl’ is just sexist and creepy, really sad because I liked the concept
