a work on privilege blindness, miscommunication (or rather avoiding communication at all cost), male pride and ego getting in the way of everything and how time changes perspective. Honestly I can think of several people (men), that might benefit from reading it. Interesting how 200 years later and we can still spot similar mechanisms.

4.5 ⭐️ Pushkin is undoubtedly the master of the Russian language. I ended up listening to this (thank you YouTube) and it is definitely my favorite work of his. The gentle satire of Russian society was done very well. I’ll admit that sometimes the prose got away from the point a bit for me..but nothing too egregious. However, the shining moments were all Tatiana- the ending especially was very inspired. One day I’ll own a physical copy of this and I can’t wait for a chance to re-read it!

Unfortunately didn’t like this book as much as I wanted to. I just couldn’t connect with the story.

Having fallen in love with the movie starring Ralph Fiennes and Liv Tyler because of the unrequited love and passion, I knew I had to read this. I neither speak nor read Russian, so this review is based on the translation I read, but I loved reading this. You basically have to commit yourself to reading this but it was worth it.

une œuvre classique qui se dévore. le fait que ça soit un long poème est facile à lire.
