Definitely a page turner. I enjoyed it more than the last few novels by this author. I'm excited to see this character again

I absolutely love this author and the characters of this book therefore I believe that my high rating reflects that. Overall this was a very typical thriller and therefore felt done before. I feel as though the plot and conflicts were interesting but I feel as though I have read books very similar.
The author intertwined the main character, Frankie, effortlessly and one could easily read this book without reading the first one. It was also easy to make connections with most of the characters and feel connected to them. I felt that I was routing for them to pull through!

With all of the being said I did think that some of the scenic writing was hard to follow and was different than many of the settings of the author's other books. The deaths of the previous hikers was touched on briefly and instead of being a surprise factor that one of the killings was Marge's sister I wish that it was hinted at briefly before. This would have made us maybe a bit more invested in the Nemeth's character who I felt as though I knew the least of the group. I also was in shock how Martin kept surviving!? The unrealistic beating of death until the very end was stoic but felt way too unrealistic. I'm sure he probably had adrenaline but from most of the writing it was explained how long the hiking was and how impassable the terrain was. That also was confusing for me. I felt that the terrain was explained to be so tough and so much hiking but Marge was able to get up and down it pretty fast plus all the movement throughout the book towards the end during the fighting for life scenes. I wish these lined up a bit better to make it more realistic for me.

Overall still really enjoyed this book and love this author! I will defiantly continue reading her books but just enjoy her books that stick more to a urban scenery with more characters to enjoy and have as suspects.

Action packed, Frankie Elkin goes on a hiking excursion to find the bones left of a hiker who had disappeared 5 years before. Lots of twists and the end is crazy!

I finished this book in like two days because I was too scared to put it down and have dreams about it. A complete roller coaster. One of the best books I've read this year.

A fast-paced, twisty thriller set in the wilderness? Yes please! I couldn’t put this one down. Lisa Gardner did not disappoint.
