At this volume, we get the fantastic ending to the Piccolo saga, and to the first part of the Dragon Ball manga.

We also get the very first saga of a new phase, where fights and power levels are most of the focus of the series.

Good ending for the Piccolo saga, kinda meh start for the Sayan one. Still, overrall, a good volume.

This volume hits hard right off the bat. It must have been the shock of a lifetime when Goku rocked up to the small get-together after 5 years with a child that he claims is his own. I'd be kind of worried, since he's not the most reliable character, and I'm not sure I'd trust him to raise a child. And then a violent party crasher arrives to spoil everything. So yeah, this volume goes kind of hard.

This was a great read. This takes place years after the events of Dragon Ball have ended. I really loved the anime. It is great to learn more about the world of Dragon Ball from the manga. It didn't disappoint. There was so many action. I really loved seeing Goku, Gohan, Burma, and the others. Gohan is my favourite character and I can't believe he has that much power within his little 4-year-old body. Overall, an enjoyable read.
