okay book

While I do appreciate how heartwarming this book was, the book is very boring. There just isn’t enough excitement, humor, mystery, or some beautiful prose, nothing kept my eyes glued to the book.

Star Crossed Lovers

The moment I liked best came near the end of the book.
However what led up to it was lovely too.

Got this as a free through Kindle. If you like the time period and are in the mood for a romance this is a nice option. Quick read and entertaining.

A really well written romance.

This is surprisingly well written. It's not as "short, sappy romance" as I thought it would be and I loved it. There were a few editing mistakes, but not too many and not horrible ones.

The characters were all unique and interesting. The different relationships that develop throughout the book are great to read. And not very typical of what would be in the usual "short, sappy romance". And I don't always like when there are multiple perspectives in a book, but Fixsen did a good job with them in this book. I think because you like the characters you are interested in their thoughts and feelings too.

The romance was slow, but really good. Realistic in a sense. And it was clean. Just a little kissing, but that was enough.

I already have the next 2 books in the series and am looking forward to reading about the other characters and the romance they experience.

- cute Romeo and Juliet retelling
- a lot of background information was given that didn’t feel relevant
- Tom and Sophie’s relationship made sense and I liked both of their characters
- ending felt rushed
- the beginning was very difficult to get through and the two didn’t even meet until about 1/4 of the way through the book

It's a light romance

A fairly light romance based on a fairytale with a twist. There's more written about the protagonists' backstory than on them falling in love, which was a bit disappointing, but I was still engaged throughout the book and finished it in one sitting.
