Loved the story
Not just a short love story but one with characters and apt. I look forward to more from this author.

QOTD: Do you prefer dual POVs or single POVs in romances?
My A: Definitely dual! There’s just something about getting both sides that helps me connect with the characters better.
.
After reading and liking Happy trail by Daisy Prescott I decided to check out some of her other books she has available on Kindle Unlimited! Daisy brings feel-good romances to life with likeable characters, easy to follow plots and HEAs that give you all the warm fuzzies. While I wouldn’t say there was anything that makes this book truly stand out or WOW me, I still think this is worth the read! Sometimes it’s nice to pick up a book with no expectations and just simply enjoy it! I think the reason for the lower rating on Goodreads is because there seems to be quite a few reviews from people upset the H was not celibate throughout the book?? Like... he was dating someone while JUST FRIENDS with his new neighbor? HOW DARE HE! (insert giant eye roll) I’m not sure in what world, that’s something to dislike someone for, but it's not very realistic in my opinion. Daisy Prescott has written real and relatable characters, so if you’re looking for a fairytale fantasy, I’d suggest something else!
.
From the blurb:
Tall, dark, and handsome is an understatement when it comes to John Day. With rugged good looks, his ever present plaid shirt, and a dog named Babe, John is a modern alpha male lumberjack.
After his favorite neighbor rents out her beach cabin for the winter, John finds himself playing tour guide to Diane Watson, a beautiful brunette with her own messy past and recent battle scars.
Will he be ready to fall in love? Or will he go back to his old, flirty ways?
My A: Definitely dual! There’s just something about getting both sides that helps me connect with the characters better.

What happens when you take a divorcee who’s sworn off the “L” word and plop her next to a determined bachelor? Why, they make a pact to be friends….just friends, of course! And we all know how well those work out.
Diane Watson has come to the island as a retreat from her acrimonious divorce from her philandering husband. She wants nothing to do with relationships, love—any of it. So when her handsome lumberjack neighbor offers to show her around, she makes him make a pact. John Day is a bearded, flannel wearing alpha male and the ladies flock to him. In the past he’s hasn’t minded the attention, he’s not the relationship type. So when a pretty divorcee that’s renting his neighbor’s cabin instigates a friendship pact, he sees nothing wrong with it.
I adore Daisy Prescott’s books. They always have the perfect mixture of humor, romance and heat. I can never put one down once I pick it up and this one was no different. I also can’t get enough of her men. They are all ladies’ men or relationship clumsy in some way but also so endearingly adorable that you just can’t help but fall in love with them. This is a feel-good romance. It’s curling up with a cup of cocoa on a cold day, wearing a hoodie for the first time in fall, that kind of feel good. The characters are relatable, the setting is spectacular and the writing is superb. If you’re looking for a sweet romance that’s guaranteed to make you smile and keep you smiling, one-click Ready to Fall today.

I loved the progression of the relationship in this book, it's a very natural evolution of their relationship rather than the love at first site crap which has been making the rounds lately. What I wasn't too fond of was the ending, yes everything is all HEA, but I felt like it was missing something. This leads me to believe there will be another book maybe, that might tie it all up in a pretty little bow... Hopefully

I really enjoyed this romance told from the guy's POV.
John Day is, for want of a better description, a lumberjack. He lives in a cottage by the sea with his dog Babe. He has a casual relationship with a girl he knew from school who is going through a divorce.
Diane Woodley has left New York after her messy divorce and is renting John's neighbour Maggie's cottage.
This was a low-angst romance, sophisticated city girl meets country boy in plaid.
