Absolutely loved this book. Officially made it into my top 5 favorite books. Such a sweet story and had me laughing and crying, smiling like a fool as I read each word. Definitely recommend. ❤️

I really liked Happy Trail by Daisy Prescott so of course I wanted to read her Wingman series.
John and Diana were cute and this book served as good introduction to series.
Can't wait to continue with series.

This was a sweet read, and had some nice aspects that aren't typical in my experience of romance reading:
- it's entirely from the hero's perspective
- the male in question has an extremely normal job, but it also isn't one that would be on the first three pages of a "jobs men do" list, if you know what I mean
- the story continues a little beyond the normal "oh we're in love" realization, you get to see some of the HEA in action
Unfortunately, apart from it being sweet and having those non-typical elements, there was nothing that really made it stand out from the pack for me either. It was. . . . nice. . . 'nuf said.

Spoiler
- there is no overly dramatic reappearance of the respective ex's - for the most part, problems are worked through sensibly, with communication and sensitivity, not dramatic blowouts and major mistakes to be forgiven- the story continues a little beyond the normal "oh we're in love" realization, you get to see some of the HEA in action

Ready to Fall was an okay start to the Wingmen series. In it, you will meet John and Diane. He was most definitely your typical man-whore and she was new into town. Even though he slept with a couple of girls before her.. I was still okay with it all. I might also like beards now? Who knows.
They both had cute moments but I was really just here for Diane to get some good loving and karma. Her ex was a complete douche and she needed something new in her life. New and good. New and better, much better.
The romance had it's moments and they were definitely cute. They made me love them and their little journey of getting to know one another. If I find the next book on KU, I will most likely dive into it. Just for the cuteness overload.

Ready to Fall is the first book I've read of Daisy Prescott's and it certainly won't be the last. I guess technically it's a companion of Geoducks are for Lovers, though it can be read alone without feeling like something is missing.
It is a fantastic story about John Day, a man who harbors some deep emotions about loss. A true lumberjack working in timber, he loves the rustic island he grew up on and also it's simplistic way of life.
When Diane Watson, a recently-separated woman from the city, rents his neighbor's cabin, he discovers a truer love than he's ever experienced.
I really enjoyed the way Diane and John's relationship grew. It didn't feel forced or hurried. It progressed naturally and I really loved watching it unfold with witty banter and stolen glances.
I'm in the mood to make a fire and dress in flannel!

I was really looking forward to reading Ready to Fall. I had heard such great things about Daisy Prescott and her books. They are supposed to be funny and amazing. While this book wasn't terrible, I didn't think it was amazing either. I didn't find it really humorous. It just read like a normal romance, but without a lot of emotions or emotional attachments.
I hadn't read Geoducks Are For Lovers yet so I did not already know John from that. This book is told from his point of view which was odd for me. I liked John, but this book seemed so devoid of emotions it was strange to read. Like I never really saw him and Diane fall for each other or anything. I am not sure if it is because it was told from John's POV (and John is kind of not emotional) or if it is the authors writing style. Either way John is seeing his high school crush, though she is married now. They got together over the summer and she told him she was separated and going to get a divorce so he was okay with their arrangement. He is kind of not looking for a real relationship, though he doesn't seem to be really against it either. He just goes with whatever his high school crush says which was just strange. I mean you can read his thoughts and...like he met her parents and he thinks how that is something that would be more serious, but are they serious? Eh, let's just go with it. I don't know. It was odd. I was expecting him to be a player, and he says that he was one before, but I never even really saw signs that he was one. Strange.
Diane needs some time away from everything. She found her husband cheating on her and she is filing for divorce. It has just happened so she is still pretty upset about it. She moves in next to John for the winter and the two quickly become friends. She is not looking for love again, and he is not looking to get into another situation with a lady who is still married. His high school crush didn't end so well when she starts talking to her husband again and making amends with him. John doesn't want to be the other man. The only reason he started with the crush was because she assured him it was over with her husband. So since Diane is not officially divorced he doesn't want to even think about going there with her.
Well they grow closer and closer and fall for each other. I didn't see it though. The writing was just strange. It didn't make me care about any of the characters or what was happening. I didn't hate it, but I am also not rushing out to read everything else by this author. An odd read and not one I would call a romantic comedy.
