some of my fave shrooms from this wonder of a book:
- the antipope: the profane mushroom which inhibits any area from hosting religious rites. mwahahahahah
- hypermushroom: the hypothetical and unknown mushroom which exists in higher spiritual dimensions which humans can’t perceive, and whose existence i assume, can never be proven…?
- little mr. music: the tiny blue-capped shrooms which, when dried out, act as bells which tinkle in the minor key. when the wind passes them by, it ‘whistle[s] in a complimentary note.’
- mystic dream aminata: the renowned dream mushroom which, if consumed, grants the dream prophetic qualities and which can be brought from the dreamspace into the real world.
- quebling cathedral: the mycellium network which CREATES, DOWN TO THE TINIEST DETAIL, A REPLICA OF ANY BUILDING UNDERGROUND!!! AND WHICH IS USED TO REBUILD ANCIENT STRUCTURES THAT NO LONGER STAND!?!?!?!?!??? OMG!!!!!
- uroborous mushroom: the floating, circular mushroom which pops out of existence when someone nears it.

This is about the most brilliant supplement for TTRPGs that I have ever seen. Not only is it a physically beautiful book, it also explores a subject that most gamers have likely never included in their game scenarios, creating a wealth of opportunities for new experiences.
Author Alex Clements has constructed his material in a completely system-neutral way, so all of these great fungi can be easily adapted into any game that you happen to be playing. And on another level, the book is just fun to read, with the wonderful color printing really highlighting Shuyi Zhang's ability to render each species with a unique personality. Just great stuff all around!
