It’s short sexy fae porn with very little substance but it was fun.

It's a great book, but I'm having to force myself to take time to read it right now. Gonna put it down and come back to it later.

i really enjoyed this story! i love the nutcracker, so it was really fun getting to read about a darker, sexier version of it. fin an d clara are iconic, and i love both of them. louisa is annoying at times, especially with how she makes clara feel bad so she can feel better about herself. at least she apologizes for it at the end, though. lir was kind of mean to louisa throughout, but i feel like louisa needed someone to be mean to her, because she definitely needed to be humbled. and she kept trying to seduce lir when he didn't want to have sex with her. i loved lir, though, and his development.
the whole mess at the end with the rat king made me very uncomfy, and i definitely could've done without the orgy scene and everybody having sex with everybody. also clara and fin have sex in the dungeon!? that was wild. but, to each their own, i guess.
overall, it was a dynamic, fast-paced, interesting, and i def recommend it if you like dark fantasy, spicy novels.

Happy ever after dark romance
Dark romance, but oh so sugarplum sweet! ;) Love the retelling, but there are some definite TWs to be mindful of. Sugarplum faerie is my favorite ❤

I wanted to like this book. I love the Nutcracker story, and a dancer it intrigued me. But this…. I could not with the plot. It started off decent and even the sex scenes didn’t ruin it but the plot itself started making no sense. It’s a DNF. The two FMCs were so obnoxious, they ruined a good part of it.
