I really enjoyed this story! I didn't realize that it was a loose retelling of Robin Hood going into it, but it was a pleasant surprise (and very well done!) One of my favorite aspects of this was the fact that it was written from both Rob and Maegan's perspectives (alternating between chapters) while still following the same timeline. This made the plot feel way faster-paced and made it hard to put down! I found Brigid Kemmerer's writing to be very accessible as well.
In terms of the main characters, Rob was easily my favorite of the two. I found his story to be way more intriguing than Maegan's. I felt as though Maegan was almost an afterthought in this novel at times - her sister Sam stole the spotlight nearly every time she was mentioned in one of Maegan's chapters and even almost felt like the other main character at times. Although Maegan had her own hurdles to overcome, I felt as though her main "conflict" was centered around her sister's pregnancy.
That being said, another "pro" I found in regards to the overall story was the fact that it included romance but it wasn't centered around it - I believe that had the author leaned any further into the romance, the novel would've lost a lot of its impact. Overall, I really did enjoy this story and will definitely be picking up more books by Brigid Kemmerer in the future!
