The plot line was so good. But i did not understand why Michael and Gavriel had such little presence in this book. They've been alive and the leader for so long but had no idea how to do things. It was okay in the first book but things just got worse.

Feather keeps teasing me with this gate. I’m ready for some gate action.

I don’t know what to do with this book.
It feels like lots of things happen but also nothing happens? Like different things are happening but also the same things keep happening (Feather protects, Gavriel thinks about how he’s a piece of crap, Rumple knows all, and Mikhail and Righteous moon over Feather)? Like I’m interested but also bored?
Luckily, it makes me lol like the first book in the series. But there were some things that bugged the crap out of me. Like why would you leave only Feather in Sanctuary when you know it siphons High Angelus energy? Why would you not make haste while on your mission (despite the hiccups, felt like they could have been done sooner)? Why would you merge in the dungeon in the middle of a rescue mission? Why was Feather so into Gavriel when he was the absolute worst?
The last quarter of this book was a struggle for me and I’m really disappointed I didn’t like it as much as the first.

This series is so good, I can’t get over it. The perfect mix of funny, sexy, mystery, and adventure. I have nothing bad to say about any of it. Can’t wait for the next one!

Knocking off one star for the cliff hanger ending
This starts right where the last one ends and it was awesome to see Feather’s newest mate “Rumple”. I liked to see her growing and changing and helping her guys grow and change. There are some character deaths in this book and they were heartbreaking to see happen in the book. The biggest issue is the book ends on another cliffhanger and you are left wondering how this series is going to end. There are some sexy times between Feather and some of her men but not all of them. Overall, the pacing of the book was good, and it fit with the first books. Just frustrated with having to wait for the conclusion to the story.
