The short stories were good but I felt many of them were outlines for possible stories she was thinking about writing

This collection of stories are good but should only be consumed in small doses so each story can truly stand on its own.

I love short story books. The story was filled with about 20 short essays about women. Some sad, some hilarious, some very Bittersweet. I love loved 85% of them! The other ones were pretty good too. Perfect for reading on vacation because you can put it down really easy.

Simpler stories than some of her others but still and always will love her books

I love her writings normally but did not enjoy this one.  I almost returned it early without finishing but trudged along.  Generally depressing characters.

While enjoyable, this collection of stories did not seem to be Maeve Binchy's best work. Another reviewer noted that these were apparently "found" stories, after MB's death, and perhaps were not finished or polished. Some seemed to end abruptly.

Not the best Binchy. Very ugly side to most of the characters, a lot of bitterness in the book. Made me wonder what skeletons were in the marriage closet.

Never thought I'd give a Maeve Binchy work only 3 stars, especially one published posthumously. Her short stories read as deeply as a novel, but throughout the book the tales become repetitive - couples settling down too young, men cheating on their wives in middle age, men abandoning families, and unwanted pregnancies to name a few.

A collection of short stories by Maeve Binchy published posthumously. Most are very enjoyable and filled with Binchy's wit and charm but there are a few that are not quite fleshed out and it is clear that they were not necessarily meant for publication.
