I spent some time with this book and worked with the exercises on the CD. Instead of finding my middle voice, I am creating more tension struggling with it. This approach might not be for me. Maybe another person would have better results.
One note: the best thing I have learned about singing is that it breaks down into different skills. This book is about fixing your break, the gap between chest voice (low notes) and head voice (high notes). It doesn’t focus on other skills, for example pitch matching, or holding a steady pitch. Don't expect this book alone to teach you "everything" about singing. This would have been a good point for the author to make in a preface in my opinion, but oh well.

Typical 1980s assumptions about "male" and "female" vocal ranges on the CD recordings.

Haven’t done the exercises (yet) but the book seems solid
