The twist at the end is completely unexpected. I also appreciated Christie’s decision to reintroduce characters from her earlier work (The Murder at the Vicarage).

On a random note, there is a kid in the story who collects autographs from famous mystery authors, and when Agatha Christie added her own signature to that list, it was nothing short of a badass move. We stan the queen of crime!

As always Miss Marple doesn’t let me down. This time we are based at a hotel which revolves around the characters in the story. Not much of the library is seen apart from in the beginning. As always clever plotting, a twist you don’t see coming pretty much until right at the end and as always the humour that is Ms Christie with her sharp observant eye! I will be catching up with Jane Marple again very soon.

despite the plot being one that i’d be interested in, i think the dialogue of the time is only something that keeps my interest long enough to complete in movie, so i may complete this book with an audio format

Classic, and an enjoyable way to pass the time. However, I think many of the subtleties of British criticism of classism went over my head, because I just kept hearing people being judged by their class and assumed financial situation. I was not able to solve the case until Ms. Marple spelled it out for me.
