The Forest of Hand and Teeth are very intriguing books taking place in a future where an infection has seized the world turning most people into zombies (She doesnt ever use that term, but basically thats the gist) the survivors have to band together behind walls to avoid contact. Its the people behind the wall and their internal struggles that the books focus on. How they survive never knowing life behind the walls.

This was better than the first book, in my opinion. Sure, it was still very angsty but it didn't take away from it. I could not stop reading.

This. Was. Awesome. I loved every single page of it. It was exciting, suspenseful, and all-around well written. I liked it more than the first one - the first one was good, but I felt like I couldn't really understand the main character and why she did certain things. In this one I could totally see why Gabry was scared to do whatever it took to save the ones she loved.
Plus, this one had a hot guy to fall for. The first one did not, for me at least.

I wasn't too optimistic going into this because I disliked A Forest of Hands and Teeth, but overall I enjoyed this one. It wasn't perfect, and I still really disliked the love story, but I liked how it explain everything left unsaid in the first book. respectable sequel, and I'm interested to see how the last one ties everything together.

An interesting continuation of the original story, but with the same problem of long, too much explanation or thoughts in something that could be shorter. Also was difficult to connect with the characters, so it was uninteresting for me their thoughts or feelings which made the reading slow and sometimes tedious.
