This book reminded me of books by Victoria Holt/Philippa Carr that I read voraciously and loved as a teenager. It's been a long time since I've read straight up romance; this was fun.

Showing my age but it was the Scottish Ghost and Mrs Muir. Fun fluff

As with all Ms. Gillard's book, I was hooked on page 1 and I had to find out what was coming. I could feel what the characters were expressing and wished I could join them; I wonder how Fanfreluche managed to do it ;) that last bit is for all of us little québécois in their 40ies or over.
