A favourite of mine, this book is a wonderful collection of all the exciting and fascinating mythology that shapes the Harry Potter books, as well as our interpretation of them, and the world around us. Take a trip to deep pasts, ancient legends, and incredible places, as you learn how magic mixes with our mundane.

Fine for what it is. An alphabetical listing of entries that have relevance for the Harry Potter series. There is some solid info here and there is some sloppy stuff here. All is presented in a breezy style that lets the reader know the writer's don't take any of this too seriously.
Look elsewhere for in depth treatment of these subjects. Look elsewhere for thoughtful insights into Harry Potter. Come to this for the occasional browse and for a little extra background presented in a friendly infotainment way.

Es más un 3.5. Había información muy redundante así que a veces era muy cansado de leer.

I really enjoyed reading this book! It may be a great companion for Philosopher's Stone to Goblet of Fire but there is quite a bit of information on several creatures and items mentioned in them! This book, in my opinion, is an excellent addition to the shelf of any Harry Potter fan and I believe they'd enjoy it just as much as I did.

This book is a sort of a reference guide to all the elements and creatures mentioned in the Harry Potter series. Complete with citations referring to which page of which book is it measure, The Sorcerer's Companion lists features alphabetically right from Amulets, Talismans, Hipogriffs to the very definition of Witches and Wizards. The author has extensively researched every topic mentioned n this book, delving into where it originated from and how Rowling has incorporated it in her books. It reads more like essays, with an Introduction, body and conclusion, keeping the reader intrigued for more. It's amazing to get a glimpse into J K Rowling's mind since she clearly has given it a lot of thought not just in adding the different characters in the books, but also since each character's name is totally apt as it's root word means something which is related to the character's personality as well.
