I have to say I did not think I would like this book for about the first 50 pages. By the end though I counldn't put it down, I had a late night finishing the book because i was not going to be able to sleep without finishing. Not my fave in the series, but it turned out good.

4 Stars.
There's quite a lot going on in this one, but that was actually a good thing. Some of these books have stagnated a bit due to repetitive plots and/or not enough action. It was nice to finally get Fang and Aimee's story, too, since it was hinted at in Vane and Wren's books. Also, could these all-powerful beings stop doing stupid things in anger that have long term, deadly consequences for other people?! Learn to control your tempers!

One of my favorite in the series. I like how it combines the brothers' stories.

Eighteen books into the Dark-Hunter series and Fang and Aimee finally get their book and HEA. Finally! I love these Kattalakis guys. The only thing I would change is giving Fury a full book instead of the short-story he got. But other than that they are perfection.
I wasn't sure how Kenyon would tell Fang and Aimee's story because it's been a long time coming. I was hoping that she wouldn't just start off chronologically and just tell everything that had happened with them in the background before they were in focus. Thankfully she didn't do that. This book spans several years and quite a majority of the series thus far, including before Vane's book, which was book six in the series. We aren't really told how long specifically but I would guess at least two or three years.
I was happy that we got their story from the first time they met. It made a lot of things more clear like the note-passing between them and why the Kattalakis' were banned from Sanctuary and so on.
Given how little we heard about Fang for so long it's amazing he had so much going on that was happening right under everyone's noses. I felt so bad for him at times, but he turned out to be such a loyal and loving person, especially when it comes to Aimee. Aimee also really gained my respect with how much she fought for Fang along the way. They have really been fighting their own battles while everyone else within the series has been busy with the bigger wars going on.
By the end of the book we're back on track with the timeline and some of the crazy things going on with the Daimon's that started in Stryker's book, One Silent Night, are starting to leak through the cracks. But on top of that there are even more things that change the DH world in big ways. One big thing is that the new brand of warriors known as Hellchasers (first introduced to us in the anthology Blood Lite) seem like they're coming to the forefront and will start to play a bigger role in future books.
I'm really curious about their leader, Thorn! Good or bad guy? Hard to say at this point, but he sounds like a character that needs more page time either way. :)
Also I'm a bit sad about Mama Bear/Nicolette dying. I know she isn't always the nicest person, but I don't think Sanctuary (once re-built) will be the same without her.
Overall definitely a top-notch Dark-Hunter book. I couldn't put it down and I'm really happy that she told Fang and Aimee's story from the beginning. They had a lot more against them being together than it originally seemed and I'm happy to have the full story now!

Fang Kattalakis is the son of one of the most powerful were-hunters, he's a shapeshifting wolf and he's an angry man. There's a war against the lycanthropes and he's involved and he has to pick a side, his choices will change his life forever.
Aimee is a bear shifter and she has multiple problems, the least of which is her mother, who wants to see her married to a bear. When she finds herself attracted to a wolf she's confused, this is not something she wanted. Can she resist?
I liked the two of them, willing to fight for and with each other and willing to do a lot to help others, even if they both have hard shells, they're soft hearted and want to do the best they can.
I enjoyed it, a lot happens in this story that reflects a few other books and issues and things are going to cascade from this and be interesting.
