I enjoyed the perspective switch between characters. A solid read.

Audiobook from the library as it's the only version they had. While I wouldn't have chosen audio in general, there are ways in which Audio was a good answer for this story.

Of course it was an amazing book. It was written by Alan Gratz! I really wasn't that excited about reading Ground Zero because I knew it would make me feel sad remembering 9/11 and all the lives lost and how I felt that day, the horror and confusion. Gratz is able to teach our children, who weren't alive at that time, what happened, how it felt, and how it connects to our involvement in Afghanistan today. Gratz's story provides excellent discussion points for a class discussion, philosophical chairs, Socratic Seminar or book club on American foreign policy and military engagement in other parts of the world.

Wow! This book really resonated with me. Having lived during the time of 9/11 it brought back emotions and feelings from that time. Gratz is a master storyteller and fans of his won't be disappointed in his newest book.

This was an engaging ya book dealing with a somber topic. Flipping back and forth from a character and time to another character and time, worked well. The similarities of events was a bit heavy handed, but it works well for the audience. I would not have picked it, but I read ahead for my son as he worked on it for a class project. I'm glad I read it.
