While I never cared too much about the victim, I was interested to keep reading to see whodunit. I partially guessed early on, but not the full picture, which is actually amazing for me because I hardly ever guess! I must have an incredible ability to suspend belief when reading cozy mysteries! LOL I found the information about handwriting analysis fascinating and would like to check out some of the author's nonfiction books on the topic. It flowed more naturally into the story than other "themed" cozies do.

I thought this book would be really fascinating but it was so boring I quit reading 25% in. The writing is super clunky, with a lot of tell rather than show.

My initial reaction after reading this book is how UNBELIVABLE the setting is. First of all, police officers DO NOT PARTNER with an ordinary citizen when investigating crimes. They go with their PARTNERS! As such, I find the whole story strange. I do not mind the content but I think the author jumped to the conclusion rather than gave readers clues so they could figure out the murderer or at least the motive. The story itself is not bad and the idea of handwriting forensics is pretty cool. Unfortunately, the poor construction of the plot and the ridiculous partnership between the cop and the main character leave me stunned and disappointed.

Multiple errors throughout the book, some sentences were repeated and words spaced to take up an entire line. Storyline was a good concept but did not draw me in as deeply as it could have.

A very brash, noisy start to the story made it clear that it was not for me

A new amateur detective is introduced in this book--presumably the start of a new series--and her hook is that she's a graphologist, a handwriting expert.

That's a pretty interesting job, and I do wish that the heroine had spent more time actually doing that job, rather than running around trying to solve this mystery. That made it seem even more unbelievable to me than it might have been otherwise.

As always, the protagonist falls for the investigating officer. Predictable.

There's a lot of venturing alone into dark spaces and unsavory areas, and the main character might have figured out who the murderer was a little sooner if she'd just been more open-minded.

Interesting concept, but a little darker than the cozy mystery I was expecting. I am fascinated with the idea of handwriting analysis. I like Claudia and Joel and their relationship. I was very surprised that Lillian was the one that killed Lindsey. That Ivan's death and the stalking of Claudia were unrelated to her death was surprising, but I am glad that the Senator was found guilty of something.

A cozy mystery after a long time. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, and lapped in the details about handwriting analysis. This one starts with the death of an influential Hollywood promotional lady who's found drowned in an inebriated state in her bath tub. initially deemed a suicide, other deaths follow and secrets of the rich and influential are exposed. The detecting team here is a handwriting expert, a former friend of the dead lady, and a charismatic police detective. The end was satisfactory.
