Cute story about how to get rid of bad dreams/thoughts - she puts them in a bucket.

I'm not sure this book is as reassuring about things that go bump in the night as it should be. I like that it takes the child's fear seriously, and the words seem poetic (protection under "my mother's arm-wing"). But the words and illustrations both seem kinda frightening. If your child's not afraid of things at night, he or she might be after reading this book. Not a sweet, calming bedtime story.

I'm pretty sure this book is the reason my youngest son started having nightmares about jellyfish in his bed. My POV is skewed because of this, but I also think there's some legitimacy in this: some books serve very special purposes, and this book's purpose is to help kids who have nightmares get rid of them.

Thought this might be good for storytime. It would be great for a preschool storytime, but is too young for elementary age children. Good for a child that is afraid of the night. Get rid of those Jibberwillies!

My three-year-old who has trouble with being scared at night really likes this book.
