Quite a slow read, which took me a while to get into. The short chapters make it easier to pick up quicky, but also there are so many characters and storylines to keep track off.

The addition of the sinister German woman and child didn't gel that well with me frm previous info on her character, but perhaps that will be better covered in future books.

As always the location and pace of the story held my attention, and my heart was in my mouth for a bit waiting for Grace Junior to be born.

I would have given this 3.5 if I could. As usual it was very fast paced and the story was decent but what irked me about this was that the beautiful movie star flirts with the protagonist. It struck me as pure vanity. Sure that would definitely happen; middle aged British policeman and Beyoncé, why not?! It was just clunky and arrogant in the way that some men are convinced they are far more attractive than they are. I guess it fits for a lot of men but the writer is trying to convince us that Grace is better than that.

Really 3/5 stars as it was an OK story but one massive, glaring error alongside a huge overuse of exclamation marks, (I mean really, was Peter James getting paid a bonus if he hit a requisite number of them?), meant I had to knock a star off....off the rating, not knock a star off in the manner that the book is about.
