Ok. :)

Ahoy there mateys! This is the first book in a series about a wild-witch named Clara. The awesome cover and the Danish author. I thought this had a solid start. Clara is a bit stubborn but overall I like her. I enjoyed the fact that even though her magic is strong, she cannot control it or even use it very much. I like her aunt and the menagerie of animals. I love the relationship Clara has with her mom and also with her best friend. The writing style and plot feel a bit old-fashioned but was enjoyable. I didn't love the trials in the book. It doesn't have me rushing out to read the rest of the series but curiosity will likely lead me to read more at some point. Arrr!

It's a timeless book and doesn't go out of style. Is it a bit fast paced? Yes, is it a bit superficial? Sorta. But hey, what the hell did you expect?
It's good, well written, good characters, amazing plot that's actually interesting, fucking hilarious commentary and description from the MC. it's a lovely children's book, but it can actually cater for the childlike soul in an adult because it at times serves a little more.
Whats better, is the way the book is ended, sure it's ready for the next book, you got follow up questions, you're wondering, and there's more to explore. But it's not like it's been cut in half and is missing something.

Review for future child reading suitability. Probably 12 years old, writing isn't challenging but some of the stuff the character says is clearly aimed at a slightly older reader. Nice to have a single parent family as the main characters. Bit of bloodshed and violence and a few birds die at the end. There were some interesting ideas but the book didn't give them ample time to be fleshed out and everything had to happen at a breakneck pace for some reason so I never felt we got to know the secondary characters particularly. The writing was fine but if I hadn't been reading this to check it's suitability I would have dnfed it. Really feel like the ending tasks should have been better set up as things the character had learnt along the way but they were basically the same task over and over with different animals and coach cat talking her ear off. The bond with what I assume is supposed to be he familiar is also never fleshed out because this book needed to be about 50 pages longer to actually build up stakes. Overall it was just fine.

Det er en god bog, som kan læses flere gange. Jeg har læst den for nogle år siden og igen nu her og den er stadig god.

This was such an Amazing book i loved the story and im going to read the next one as soon as i Can find it .
I Got confused by some words in the book but that May be because im used to Reading in english and i read it in danish ( im not sure if there is an english version?)
But honestly one of my favorite things were just the descriptions like I normally have a hard time imagining stuff explained in books but I could imagine almost everything
And like the comedy is just amazing and the story and writting in general like it’s an amazing mix of comedy, fantasy and small thriller elements . it was really hard to put down like when I finished one chapter I just wanted to go read the next one immediately:)
I would totally recommend this , it has become one of my fav books :D
