What a wonderful little book!
I absolutely ADORED McTavish and the family he decided to rescue. What a smart and kind dog. What a tender story.
The writing style was nice and funny, based on repetitions, making you smile from page one to the end.
I highly recommend this rare literary pearl that made my heart melt. To any animal lover! I cannot wait to read McTavish's next adventures!

I wanted to love this-- I have a thing for scruffy dogs, and look at that cover!-- but the whole thing felt overly moralistic. The premise is "Mrs. Piggle Wiggle, but a dog," and yet doesn't hold any of the appeal or magic of either Mrs. Piggle Wiggle or a dog.

A sweet and and enjoyable book.
I love stories with animals and I loved McTavish, how he adopted a family and he improved their life.
I loved the humour in this story and found the plot entertaining and interesting.
I think children will love it but it can also be appreciated by adults.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to Candlewick Press and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Excellent! This made me giggle the whole way through. I loved it. Short, but sweet.
