Informative. Entertaining. Enlightening. Awesome.

Loved it.

I felt educated about policy and the economy when I finished this book. I don't know that I could speak eloquently on the topic, but I understand a lot more than when I started. It's accessible and even amusing at times. It seemed to lean liberally and reminded me of "Nudge".

An excellently readable overview of American economics, covering such basically important (yet eternally complex) issues as taxes, international trade, actual vs. abstract cost, GDP, indicators for prosperity, the role of government in economics, and so on. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for an entertaining primer on a topic that can be pretty dry.

Almost finished but really can't get myself to finish it. Somehow it's too boring for me. Not sure whether it's due to the writing style or content itself (but I once soooo enjoyed naked statistics, so probably it's about the content?)

It keeps talking about the basic stuff in an uninteresting way ever (at least to me i-i, though).
There are a lot of fun econ books out there, better not to choose this one imo.

I read this book to prepare for an Econ tournament, and I believe it serves the purpose it intends to. If you’ve never studied Econ, this will give you the essentials in a relevant way.

This was a very interesting and informative book. Anyone thinking of making a Facebook post during this election cycle about economics should certainly read a book like this. Wheelan sticks to the science and mostly away from the politics. Even when his view did differ slightly from my own, he did such a great job of explaining the science portion that I could at least understand the other point of view. Candidates rarely take the time to bother with math or facts.

So I didn't actually finish this book, but I actually didn't need to. At times this boom was really dry and boring and some times it was funny. I'm not going to recommend this book only because it was a required read for school. Or unless you like dry nonfiction novels be my guest because I did learn a few rhings.

The best economics book I've read to date. This is because Charles Wheelan is able to smoothly push the reader to understand the foundation of economic theories that are taught to university students in their intricate study modules.

I loved reading every chapter. Charles links economic theories with real-world practicality and events so anyone who has no background in economics would somewhat be able to relate to his reading as if they're reading a very well-educational newspaper.
