The Start is an anthology of short stories that take you through the various starts of something. Through different settings, POVs, and genres, It makes the reader ask: what constitutes as "the start"?
Each story brings an element to the answer of that question. The spark of a revolution, the catalyst to intergenerational entrapment, the lurking inner monster, and the discovery of something new are just a few examples explored.
Even the stories I didn't immediately love brought something to the overall reading experience. Many of them could stand on their own, encapsulating their story arcs within their written lengths.
If you love anthologies that explore a theme from a multi-genre lens, then this anthology is worth picking up.
