I fell in love with the Vinyl Cafe and the radio stories about Dave and Morley when I was in Canada. These are heartwarming stories that now will always take me back to that great trip.

Wonderfully funny, light, and thoughtful at the same time. I really enjoyed McLean's writing style and the way he was able to create likeable characters that were relatable without trying to be. I recommend you read this, whenever you find yourself in a bad mood. I hope the cozy feel of the stories will help bring your spirits up, as it did mine.

- McLean is a Professor of Journalism at Ryerson Polytechnic University and long-time host of CBC Radio's "The Vinyl Cafe", where he reads his stories about Dave, Morley, Stephanie, and Sam, and the little record store Dave owns.
- Like Garrison Kiellor's "Lake Wobegon" series, the stories are warm, light, and usually funny

Love vinyl cafe and love Dave. Best line of the book about his 16 yr old daughter, "she was mad about something- mostly nervous probably. Dave looked at her across the table, scowling into her cereal bowl, and his heart went out to the boys into whose lives his daughter was about to march. Somewhere, he thought, some poor kid who has no idea what is heading his way is calmly eating breakfast.". Ha. McLean makes me laugh out loud and want to cry at the same time. What more can you ask for in a book???
