i liked this book overall but can’t say i ever felt super invested or connected to the characteristics for most of the story

not sure i fully believed/understood the conflict between elsie and juliet, even with all of the other life events factored in

loved elsie’s relationship with her nan and maggie

Read February 2025
Always here for messy queer characters! The ending was a little over the top though, and I feel like some of the backstory & side characters could have been explored on a bit more.

I gave this 2.5 ⭐️ and I think that was very generous. This has gotta be one of the worst books I’ve read in a while. Weird and Toxic come to mind first. The ending was cheesy AF. I should’ve DNF’d, but I really was hoping it would get better. As a lesbian, I questioned the validity of this “queer novel.” It felt like it was written by a heterosexual and she made bisexual women look crazy AF!
