I’m sold. This was totally worth it. Fantastic even. I might even get over the two things I really disliked in the first book (the hippopotamus and the non-quest trickery).
I’ll be reading this series with my son in the coming years.

Between 3 and 4, but I decided to give it 4 stars. Rating: 3.8 stars.
So many deaths, so many heartbreaking scenes, so intense and grand...
Beyonders series was not as good as Fablehaven, but it nonetheless earned a special place in my heart - Kendra, Seth, Sorensons, Jason, Rachel, Galoran, Nate, and many more, not characters, but people - and Mull once again, with this amazing, heartbreaking (never read a fantasy book sad like this) and adventurous series, proves to be worthy, and more of that, being one of my favorites, if not my favorite ever, fantasy writer. Can't thank you enough, Brandon, but thank you very much nonetheless,
Alan.

This was just fun. One of those rare times that the final book of a trilogy lives up to its potential! There were times in the previous two books where I felt like the adventures got a little lengthy, but this one wasn't that way to me. It was pretty exciting all the way through. As well, despite being overwhelmed by all the new characters in book 2, I found myself attached to them in this one. And Brandon Mull's imagination - wow! So fun.

I went into this knowing that so many characters who I loved and felt connected to were going to die heroically. And they did. I was tearing up all the way to the end and I hope that Mull will return to this universe with though hints and prophecies I don't know how he couldn't.

I'm going to admit that it took me the will to read this the whole way through. It's not because I didn't want the series to end, but it's because I got bored with it. Or more accurately, I lost the will to read it. It's been sitting on my shelf for a year, I think? And I really only decided to read it when I realized that I had too many books that I haven't read yet.
The book was fast-paced and a thrilling read. I don't know what made me lose the patience to read it, but it's a good book and a wonderful ending for the series.
The ending made me a little sad and there have been too many deaths. I'm glad for those that lived, but I'm glad that those who lost their lives did it fighting. It was a wonderful ending and I will miss this book.

My first thought is: Why Ferrin?! He was my favorite (besides Galloran and maybe Jasher). Even though I was afraid for basically the entire series that he would betray them, I knew deep down that he wouldn't. That being said, I got freaked out when he turned on Tark. It was so touching when he told Tark that he could never live with himself if he harmed his only three friends ever. This book was so upsetting and amazing at the same time, so I give it 4 stars.
