Pretty great! The wordless story grew each time we read through it and noticed more details in the drawing (I love the snowbee).

Sweet wordless book that both promotes awareness of proper bee procedure (sugar water, shady places, bee-friendly flowers) and tells the story of a girl and her enormous bee friend.

A bee flies into a little girl's room, through an open window. At first the little girl freaks out then they become friends.

This book is wordless. It is all pictures. I liked it. I loved how their friendship developed and how they came up with a way to help other bees in the city. When I was a little girl, I would have loved to have had a pet bee that I could feed, put in a stroller and spoil. I could relate to this book.

I love the message too, on saving the bees. People should care more.

I read this last week at work and just had to add it to my reading challenge because it’s quite possibly the best picture book I’ve read all year

This is such a beautifully illustrated book useful for creating conversations about bees and why we need them. A child will be enthralled by the sunny illustrations (including a magnificent friendly-looking sun) with plenty of background details to delight and find.

It would have been easy to add more ethnic diversity in the neighborhood illustrations as I know diversity is reality in the UK just as in the States. I will look again but I'm not sure this book is a 'mirror' for everyone when it quite easily could be.

That said, it's lovely.

A book to share in the spring, but also to go along with your science unit! I was happy to see the end notes that give some factual information to add to the information embedded within the story.
