What an interesting and informative book! I had no idea cougars lived so close to Hollywood. There's a lot of information that's presented in a sensitive manner, including P-22 (the cougar that is tagged and followed throughout this book) sneaking in the zoo and eating a geriatric koala bear. Yes, it's heartbreaking, but the fact that the zoo came out in support of P-22 and building a wildlife bridge shows just how important the web of connections are between us.

This nonfiction picture book about a beloved wild puma that has taken up residence in an LA park is a treat for young animal lovers. P-22 helped scientists in LA make the case for moving forward with building an animal crossing that will connect forested areas around Los Angeles and make it safer for wild animals to live and thrive. Pair with Pale Male books or the picture book Crossings.

I love this book!! He helped people see that there should be an animal crossing which was very smart. I'm glad that the crossing is there and there are a bunch of other animals there.
