Humphrey is an angel that i would protect with my life!!

I loved this series as a child and decided to reread this as part of the summer reading program at my local library.

LOVED this sweet book and my students did, too. It’s funny, innocent, and endearing all at the same time. I’m sure we will pick up more books in this series.

This was such a cute book!!! I read it with my students, and they all loved! It had really good stories within the book. It was all about a hamster who lives in a classroom, and he gets to go home with all the students on the weekend, and there is always a lesson to be learned. There are more books to read, and we can't wait to get to them!

"You can learn a lot about yourself by taking care of another species," she told me on the way home the day she got me. "You'll teach those kids a thing or two."

Then she frowned at me and said, "Is that some kind of... rodent?"

If I ever disappear and someone finds this notebook, just check out Mrs. Brisbane. Please!

Finally finished reading this to my son at bedtime (it got misplaced part way through which is why it's taken so long!). We were recommended this in Waterstones as a great story for 5+ children.

I have enjoyed reading the adventures of the class hamster to my son. Humphrey seems to be able to solve the problems of everyone he comes into contact with! He also learns to read and write as well as picking up various bits of general knowledge.

Each chapter has a tip at the end on hamster care. A cute story which we enjoyed but not to race about.

Perfect read for elementary students. I read this to a group of 3rd graders who fell in love with Humphrey's wit and will continue to read his other stories. I loved the interaction with many different characters in the class. This really helped my kiddos to relate the issues going on to themselves and those they know.

I read this aloud to my son, and he loved it! He asked for the rest of the series to read on his own, and he wants his own pet hamster.
