I don’t even know what to say about this book except that I feel privileged to have read it. Can this guy ever write!

An extremely unique premise and story telling format, but a dark and humorless reality to have to face. A Jurassic Park success story, but still featuring ethical chasms of "science made it possible, but should science have done it in the first place?"

It was a though read at times as an elephant lover, as an animal lover. But Damira's vengeance with her herd was as good an ending as one could hope for, given the circumstances.

clever and moving. Naylor has crafted a story of interesting, sympathetic characters that truly examines so many relevant themes. My only complaint is that the prose can be a touch pretentious.

I would have liked a different last chapter.

Also, some of the themes are much more complex than presented. However, the emotions and questions this book raises are important to ignite curiosity on those topics.

If I had a nickel for every time I read a book about a scientist who studied an animal so passionately that when given the chance, they transported their consciousness into said animal in the name of science and extinction, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it’s happened twice.

Intense, layered explorations of human greed, memory, and resurrection. Made me feel feelings I didn't want to feel. 5 stars and I kinda hate it.
