This book is put out by Writer’s Digest (an imprint of F + W Media), an organization that publishes books, provides webinars and other resources designed for writers and aspiring writers. The present book, 2015 Guide to Self-Publishing, Revised Edition: The Most Comprehensive Guide to Self-Publishing, is one such book. Its obvious target audience is the author who is hoping to self-publish, but it also contains material, such as the article “How Much Should I Charge?” by Aaron Belz that is more suitable to the freelance writer.

According to one survey1 cited by Publishers Weekly2, self-published works represent, as of July 2014, 31% of e-book sales on Amazon’s Kindle Store and Indie authors are earning nearly 40% of the e-book dollars going to authors. While self-published authors are “dominating traditionally published authors” in sci-fi/fantasy, mystery/thriller and romance genres, they are also taking “significant market share in all genres.” Obviously, this reflects only ebooks, and is a snapshot of only the Amazon Kindle Store, but it is a reflection of the growing popularity of self-published books, particularly in genre fiction.

Really great book, very detailed from lots of different points of view (although some of those points of view conflicted with each other). Only trouble is it's very American centric, so a lot of physical places to visit were in the US.
