A very story. I love the personal connection of the author Rachel Field using a poem she would speak to her own child. It's packaged up as an inspiration for children everywhere and I think that's beautiful.

Could some of the reviews be more condescending? I think not. I find the illustrations a touch on the sentimental side - as is generally the case with this illustrator - but having just read an explanation of how they came to be I'm more able to overlook it. As far as the written content is concerned - thankfulness is a good thing, even for atheists.

Rachel Field wrote this poem for her daughter, but it sends a message of love, kindness, and joy to all children. Delicate illustrations focus in on one child's small world, and connect her to all children.

A sweet prayer book, with multicultural depictions in the illustrations. The poetic form of the prayer would be easy to teach children I believe.

I child's prayer appears on the first page which is then broken down into individual verses on the subsequent pages along with appropriate illustrations that are very soothing and peaceful. Appropriate for very young children, ages 2-5.

Meh. A simple Christian prayer with nice illustrations. Nothing too special, though.

I would have loved to teach this prayer to my daughter when she was little. I may type it out, frame it and have it for my granddaughters.
