Although my family is grown, I found this book well presented and full of lovely ideas for the home and celebrations with family and friends. [a:Jerusalem Jackson Greer|6544315|Jerusalem Jackson Greer|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1364485387p2/6544315.jpg] follows the Christian calendar, many of which I was unfamiliar. There are crafts, words of wisdom, recipes and ways to have fun. Her sharing of her personal life at the beginning of each chapter was very interesting to read. If I don't win this on May 10th I may purchase it as a gift for my daughter.

I just got this in the mail yesterday as a Firstreads copy and it's a beautiful book! I have not read it in it's entirely, and probably will never sit down to read it chapter-to-chapter, but I've read the preface, and flipped through, read bits & pieces, bookmarked, laughed out loud, and been moved to tears. I love the snippets of insight into the author's life, have enjoyed the quotes, will try some of the recipes, and will glean inspiration from the crafts & activities included.
My favourite chapter so far has been Chapter 5: Epiphany. As the mother of 2 very active, very lovable little boys, I could relate to so much of what she was saying! I know I won't attempt everything in here... but it's presented nicely, written in a light-hearted encouraging format (without being preachy), and will claim a spot on my go-to bookshelf. It's an enjoyable, easy-to-relate to book - whether you're an experienced mother, crafter, home-maker, cook, or just want somewhere to start or ideas to incorporate into your own family life.

I cannot express how much I LOVE this book! Greer's essays are exquisite and honest. The idea of adapting the liturgical year even when you're not Catholic is so appealing to me.

I love this book. Almost every single page is dog-earred or highlighted or underlined. I am making plans to make an advent wreath out of Mason jars ... not exactly an idea from the book, but I feel like it will fit my family and help us to celebrate the season better and that's what I've gotten from the book. Celebrate the best way your family knows. LOVE it. I plan on reading and reading and reading it again and again!
