This was a great book about figuring out who you are as a teen. I liked how you read along through the years and how their friendship grows into something bigger. But also because you skip a year every time, it feels a little rushed, especially near the end. I also read this in Dutch and I think this is almost the only trans representation in YA fiction that's available for Dutch readers.

Recommendations are welcome!

I enjoyed this book sooo much.

It's told from both friends perspectives every year on their birthday as the grow up.

It's cute, it's sad, it's uplifting but also harrowing. It's everything I enjoy in contemporaries!

This was just so good and so emotional, I was practically crying for half the book. It kept me waiting and waiting, and that wasn't a bad thing. It made everything feel so much more real and in depth and it also made me really connect to the characters more. For a short book, the content here was fantastic. I haven't read a book like this in a while so it was refreshing and fun too.

I don't really have the words to describe this book. It was so good! It broke my heart and then put it back together again. I cannot recommend it enough!
