I’m not entirely sure what I expected from this short collection of poems.

Perhaps my expectations were too high or I was seeking something different when I first picked this up.

I initially thought that this was going to be a 5-star read for me but I wasn't able to connect to this collection of poems like I have with others which was disappointing. It has less to do with the context but rather the mood of the poems, it was not a matter of relating to them but more a personal failure to comprehend or grasp the poet's motivations. But I do I think those fond of spiritual, gothic-inspired poetry will likely enjoy this collection.
