Was this the best book I’ve ever read? No, probably not. I’ll be so honest, it’s essentially just published fanfiction. With that being said, I do love fanfiction and absolutely ATE IT UP cause I am deep in a Stranger Things hyperfixation rn. I loved getting more back story on Robin (as she’s my favorite character in the show) and knowing her experiences. I have always resonated with Robin with all her weirdness and unabashed expression of who she is, while still molding herself to fit in/having that desire to fit in and have friends. I also deeply resonate to her experiences as a queer character so I loved seeing her thoughts about crushes and girls being obsessed with dating, how it relates to her queerness, and the realization of her feelings for Tammy Thompson. Also, the Steve Harrington jabs were amazing considering their incredible and iconic friendship later in the show. Honestly, all the references to the other Stranger Things characters and the plot of season one were amazing even if they were very brief! If you love Stranger Things and especially if you love Robin you will love this book, I definitely recommend. I also highly recommend listening to the Rebel Robin podcast as well as reading this book! It gives more depth into Robin and Mr. Hauser (plus Maya Hawke voices Robin which makes it even better).

YA
LGBTQIA 🏳️🌈
GENRE: This is one in a series of sci-fi/horror novels based on the hit Netflix show, Stranger Things, but this stand-alone title is much more contemporary than the others and covers Robin’s home and school life up to the point where she ends up working at Scoops Ahoy with Steve Harrington. She mentions certain things like Will’s disappearance & reappearance but otherwise this is all about Robin, her friendships, and realizing that she is different / LGBTQIA+
Very coming-of-age
I liked this one a lot. Runaway Max (3rd in the series captured a lot of what we already saw in the shows with a little bit of personal pov added but Rebel Robin gives us all the backstory and insight into who Robin really is before we she even meets the ST gang.

J’ai beaucoup aimé le fait qu’on en apprends beaucoup plus sur ce personnage l’écriture est fluide et à part pendant les 50 premières page je ne me suis pas ennuyé
